There has been yet another outbreak of foreigner jumping to his death from a Pattaya hotel disease. This time, according to police reports, members of the hotel security team spent ten minutes trying to talk 68-year old Jurgen Rudihans from the balcony but he was adamant, citing the leg amputation he was going to be facing next month as the justification for plunging to his death (he ‘cried and lamented’ – in German? Did the hotel security team speak German?).
Usually in these cases (and I make no inference about the above case) there turns out to have been a rather younger companion in the room, sounds of an argument, possibly another man and police immediately ruling out any kind of theft or other illegal activity, professing themselves mystified over why a foreigner with so much apparently to live for suddenly leaping from the hotel to his (always his) death. They investigate for a while and then file the case under ‘Strange Things Farangs Do and Certainly Not a Scam of Any Sort.’

This one actually sounds real, they tried to save him, not?
